Packet sniffing for web analytics

Some time ago I’ve wrote the post “What are Log File Analysis and Page Tagging?” about the most popular web analytics technologies “Page tagging” and “Log file analyzers”. I received a comment from Ivo Rehberger (Development Manager, Nextwell) in which he mentioned the advantages of Packet sniffing over the other two technologies. I just omitted this third technology because I wanted to mention the two most popular, but I do agree with Ivo, this technology is as good as the other two and is important at least to mention it (with pros and cons). …”One of the most important advantage

Reframing Conflict

This month as every month I´ve received the Oracle Magazine, in which I’ve fount a very interesting post that I want it to share with you. Where there are people, there is a potential for conflict. And it doesn’t take an HR expert to realize that unresolved conflict in the workplace can be costly—in terms of low morale and productivity, litigation, sabotage, or even violence—which is why organizations increasingly view conflict resolution skills as a core competency for many employees. With the shift from traditional reporting structures to cross-functional (or cross-dysfunctional) teams, the possibility of conflict is heightened—and greater confusion

Does viral marketing make any sence?

One of the very interesting presentations in MKTG 2.0 was Greg Johnson’s. He talked about innovation, and one of the topics he mentioned was Viral marketing. Even when some of the previews presenters mentioned their viral campaigns, Greg’s doesn’t doubt in criticize the concept in my opinion in a very exaggerated way. Throughput accounting – isn’t your website a system?

When Professor Ing. Adolf Held (MBA) presented in 2001 the topic Thoughput accounting I was a bit more than fascinated. Nowadays it’s still seems to me one of the most important management models, because you could use it for a bunch of different things. While lean accounting based on cost is focused in minimize the cost of capacity, throughput accounting is focused on maximize de use of capacity. The Theory of Constraints, a management philosophy derived from physics, assumes that constraints prevent organizations from achieving better performance. The Theory of Constraints (TOC) is based on a scientific method that has
