Internet allows on time communications through people with same interests or profiles from all over the world. So if you like wines you could contact people from very far places who can recommend you a wine that you don’t even know that exists, and then you could recommend it to some other people and so on. If that wine is produced by an small company, it will probably became a medium wine exporter in a very short time, just because the power of online word of mouth. On the other hand viral marketing is becoming the new revolution in marketing. Probably there is no people online that had already visited the Burger king chicken, or that haven’t seen the fat boy singing luma luma gay (or something like that). I guess that these kinds of videos are the next generation advertising vehicles. How many people have seen the luma luma video? Actually the New York Times dedicated almost a half page to talk about it, so what could be the cost of a piece like this? I guess is priceless. So if we should pay for a fixed position there we need a super bowl advertising budget. But what about if we could display a different ad each time that someone visualize the video? I’m not talking about cover all the video with advertising, but in the correct moment display the correct ad to the correct people? (DAD). This could allow a low comparable CPC, and probably an incredible CTR.
